Day 1: Airport Arrival / Negombo

Highlights: Arrival, Check in to the hotel in Negombo, Visit Muthurajawela Marsh You will be welcomed by the Look Lanka Tours Representative in the Airport and then transfer to Negombo. Check in to the hotel. Rest and relaxation within the hotel Afternoon visit the Muthurajawela Marsh (Boat Trip), [distance 21km, 30min] This is one spot where the 2004 tsunami beckons. Literally translating to Supreme Field of Pearls, this Negombo attraction is a wetland perched southerly on the city’s lagoon. A creation of the Portuguese, this canal was previously the ground of a very rich lands reaping rice. This is well worth it if you are interested in wildlife. You will soon arrive at Muturajawela wetland marine sanctuary, famous for its mangroves, salt water crocodiles and avi fauna. You will take a boat ride through the vast Negombo lagoon. Extending over 6,000 acres and over 29,000, and rumored to provide home to over 40 species of migratory and 85 indigenous bird species. Mangrove forests that line the footpath are great places to observe birds as well as baby crocodiles and fiddler crabs. Return to the Hotel BBQ dinner for night. Overnight Accommodation at the hotel

Day 2: Negombo / Dambulla

Highlights:visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, visit the sigiriya rock fortress. After the breakfast proceed to Dambulla. Enroute visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Here you will witness baby elephants being fed by a feeding bottle as soon as you enter. This is a lovely site for tourists. This elephant orphanage also houses the crippled elephants that can’t take care of themselves. Special mahouts are trained to take care of these ‘gentle giants’ who are sometimes orphaned. Witness as these beautiful creatures are fed at 9.15am, 13.15pm or when they are bathed – twice a day at 10.00am and 02.00pm respectively. check in to the Hotel. Evening visit the sigiriya rock fortress. Sigiriya Rock Fortress, considered one of the amazing wonders of the Ancient World that truly needs to be witnessed to be believed. Located in the interior of Sri Lanka and The magnificent rock fortress of Sigiriya is visible for miles from all directions and dominates the surrounding plain. Sigiriya which was an ancient castle built by King Kasyapa during the 5th century AD is both a palace and fortress. The climb up Sigiriya is a challenge and takes about 90 minutes. You will pass by many peculiar parts of the fortress like The Mirror Wall, world famous Sigiriya Frescoes and the entrance to the Lion Gate. Tips The best time to climb sigiriya would be early in the morning or late in the evening-avoid the afternoon heat of the tropical island (morning are best for the photogarphs) Dress simply and comfortably and wear a good pair of walking shoes. Ladies, be sure not to wear skirts and dresses while climbing! Day 3: Dambulla

Highlights: hot air baloon ride, Proceed to Polonnaruwa to visit ancient ruins. Early in the morning take a hot air baloon ride. The launch and picturesque landscape at sunrise, as nature awakens to the first rays of the new day is the reward to an early start. 7.30am – 8.00am: Landing…. the smiling faces and hearty welcomes of the local villagers coming to greet you is an unexpected delight 8.15am – 8.30am: Coming down to earth and the reality of returning to life as seen from the ground. Day 5: Kandy

After the breakfast visit the Royal Botanical Garden The Royal Botanical Gardens, commonly known as 'Peradeniya Gardens' is probably the most popular garden in the country. It covers 147 acres and is said to attract close to 2 million visitors every year. It is a glorious expanse of well-kept trees, flowers and pathways, some of which are centuries old. While officially established under the British colonial government in 1843, the history of the park goes back to the 14th century and is tied to the Kandyan Kingdom. After the lunch visit Temple of Tooth Relic Long a center of the Buddhist faith, the stunning 17th-century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white-clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani every day. Evening rest and relaxation at the Wales Park Kandy. The Royal palace park, also known as wales park, it is a small park on top a small hill in the heart of the city of kandy, that overlooks kandy Lake and most of the city. Established by king Sriviikrama Rajasinghe of Sri Lanka it was renamed as wales park in Honor of the prince of the prince of wales by the British. This is an ideal place for the rest and relax the park is shaded by big trees and nice benches under the trees these is really nice park. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight accomadation at the hotel. Tips During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room housing the tooth is open to devotees and tourists. However, you don’t actually see the tooth. It’s kept in a gold casket. shaped like a dagoba (stupa), which contains a series of six dagoba caskets of diminishing size. Day 6: Kandy / Ella

The bridge was built at Gotuwala between the Ella and Demodara stations during the British Colonial period. Locally it is known as ‘Ahas Namaye Palama’ meaning nine skies bridge in Sinhala. The name derives from the visual experience. When you stand below the bridge and look up you can see the sky through the nine arches. Return to the hotel. Day 9: Mirissa

Day 10: Mirissa / Galle / Hikkaduwa

In the 18th century, the Dutch build their headquarters, Galle Fort, on the Sri Lankan coast. Nowadays, the old beautiful buildings are transformed into trendy shops, cafes, and restaurants. UNESCO named Galle Fort World Heritage, so the beauty of the building is being preserved. You can only enter Galle Fort from the main gate side. From there, explore the shopping streets, churches, and the fort’s history. It takes about two hours to walk around the whole fort. Fall in love with all those incredible handicraft shops. If you would like to bring back a little souvenir for your loved ones then wait until you arrive in Galle Fort. It owns some of the most beautiful shops in Sri Lanka filled with design attributes and handicraft that you won’t find anywhere else. Coninue the way to Hikkaduwa Check in to the Hotel After the lunch visit Hikkaduwa beach. In 1940, the Hikkaduwa Rocky Islets were declared sanctuaries and was limited to the land boundaries of these rocky islets. In 1998 it was upgraded to the status of a nature reserve and later to a national park. The famed Coral Gardens and Telwatte Bird Sanctuary are the main attractions of Hikkaduwe which lies 98km from Colombo. Foreign and local tourist come to see the famous “coral gardens” of Hikkaduwe, for the tourist who doesn’t like to get their feet wet glass bottom boats are available while others snorkel to reach them which are filled with brightly colored corals and marine life. Surfing Hikkaduwa has been a favorite destination with international surfers for three decades. The wave sizes range from 4-11 feet. Surfing in Hikkaduwa is quite well known and gets the best surf during its dry season, There are 4 main surf points in Hikkaduwa. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving A multitude of tropical fish, magnificently colorful coral reefs and fascinating ship wrecks can be explored while snorkeling and scuba diving in Hikkaduwa. With a reputed and long-running diving school located in the town itself, PADI diving instructors are available throughout the season for training and certification as well as leading more experienced divers in some of the country's best ship wreck and reef dives. Evening visit Turtle Hatchery. Turtle Hatchery Hikkaduwa is famous for its turtle nesting beaches. The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery is a favorite destination for visitors and is highly recommended.
