Ahungalla Sea Turtles Conservation Project

Sri Lanka's ocean turtles are viewed as a national diamond. The five species found in Sri Lankan waters; the Green, Leatherback, Olive Ridley, Loggerhead and the Hawksbill ocean turtle have altogether visited the island's southern sea shores. Ocean turtles burn through the greater part of their life in water, yet come shorewards sporadically to lay their eggs.

Ahungalla sea turtle conservation collects the eggs and protect them till the baby sea turtle come out. After that, they release the baby sea turtles to the sea. Not only baby ones, they protect older and disabled sea turtles also.
