Day 1: Airport / Galle

Day Highlights: Rest and relaxation, meet the wedding planner, beauty treatment session You will be welcomed by the Look Lanka Tours Representative in the Airport and then transfer to the hotel in Galle. Check in to the hotel Lunch and the rest . The day is very important because tomorrow have your wedding ceremony so that the rest and relaxation is more important. You can meet the wedding planner and he / she will be giving the introduction and image about how your wedding is going on tomorrow. And give the instruction for you. It will be essential because this is new experience Sri Lankan customs and traditions are very differed. Evening you have a beauty treatment session. Your sri Lankan beautician will be conducted that session including facial treatments. Dinner & overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Galle

Day Highlights: wedding function. After the breakfast (the breakfast can be taken before or after the dress up) Early in the morning the beautician will be meet you and dress you as a bride and the partner as a groom. Ceremony proceedings will be as follows, Bride and the groom will be separately escorted from their hotel rooms to the marriage ceremony in a stunning procession performed by traditional Kandyan Dancers and drummers. Master of Ceremonies invites the couple to be married to the Poruwa (Specially made marriage podium), by blowing of the shell. The couple will exchange vows and a bunch of betel leaves Seven times marking a tradition that symbolizes the love and bond which will last for many generations. The marriage is denoted by tying the index fingers of the couple with a gold colored thread and water poured on it by the Master of Ceremonies from a crafted silver jug whilst singing blessings from God (Traditionally called as “Ashtaka”). After the couple exchange weddings bands, they feed each other with milk, rice and water, a representational vow to take care of each other for life. To commemorate the marriage young girls dressed in the traditional Sri Lankan Saree will sing wedding songs (Traditionally called as “Jayamangala Gatha”. As a custom, the girls are given a symbolic gift. Now the wedded couple is invited to step out of the special marriage podium (Poruwa) amidst singing and beating of drums. As couple steps out, a coconut is dashed to bless them with children and prosperity. The couple lights the traditional oil lamp to symbolize light of hope and success. This event is done in all important events and occasions in Sri Lanka. The married couple and witnesses, sign the marriage certificate in the presence of the Registrar of Marriages. Wedding in Sri Lanka: Legal Requirements The legal requirements for Registration of Marriages of Foreign Nationals in Sri Lanka are very straightforward. You are required to produce the following documents to the Divisional/District Registrar of the area where your marriage would take place. The following original documents are required. Photocopy of birth certificate (original to be presented prior to the wedding day) Photocopy of valid passport (original to be presented prior to the wedding day) Details of the names, addresses and occupations of the couple to be married Details of parents’ names, occupations and addresses An affidavit confirming marital status of bride and groom prior to the wedding. Should be signed by a Solicitor with company stamp. If either party to the marriage is divorced, a Decree Absolute proving the lawful termination of the previous marriage must be presented prior to the wedding ceremony If widowed, Death Certificate of former spouse of the previous marriage If names have been changed prior to the wedding, legal proof of change of name. Day 3: Bentota

Day Highlights: madu river boat safari, Watersports Adventure in Bentota After the breakfast proceed to Bentota. Check in to the hotel Private boat tour in Madu river. Spot Sri Lanka’s fascinating wildlife on a private Madu River boat safari through thick mangroves, open stretches of river, and islands devoted to cinnamon cultivation. With the flexible, personal experience of a private tour, you’ll have the option to explore along the way, visiting an old Buddhist temple, learning about cinnamon harvesting, or pausing for a treatment at an outdoor fish massage parlor (own expense). This 1- to 2-hour Madu River tour departs from Balapitiya, and it’s the perfect chance to see crocodiles, water monitors, wild boars, snakes, and more. After the lunch Watersports Adventure in Bentota. Then, meet your instructor-guide at the Bentota Watersports Centre and depending on your chosen package, enjoy some or all of the activities below.
